Adding an employer response

You must have a Free Employer Account, or an Enhanced Company Profile on Glassdoor in order to respond to reviews on your company’s profile.  With your Free Employer Account, you may provide an official employer response to any company review, interview review, or benefit review posted on your company profile.
 
You may respond to reviews in two different locations: 

To respond to a benefits review, these steps are different than other reviews.  See our Responding to a benefits review section below. 

To respond to a review within your Employer Center:

  1. Go to Employer Center.
  2. Click Community Reviews.
  3. Click either Employee Reviews tab or Interview Reviews tab.
  4. Navigate to the review to which you would like to respond.
  5. Click into the text box and Write a response to this review.
    1. Note: There is a 5,000 character limit.
  6. Click Add Comment.

Note: When your response has been posted, it will include the date the response was submitted, as well as your job title. (To update the job title that will be shown on your response, see our How to edit your Job Title when responding to reviews article.) The member who submitted the original posting will receive an email notification that a response has been provided to their review. If you wish to edit or delete your response, you may do so by clicking the links next to your response.​​


To respond to a review from your main company profile:

  1. Sign in to your Glassdoor account.
  2. Navigate to the review on your profile to which you would like to respond.
  3. Click into the text box and Write a response to this review.
  4. Click in the field to write your response.

Responding to a benefits review: 

  1. Go to your public facing company profile on Glassdoor.
  2. Click the Benefits tab.
  1. Go to the specific benefits review you would like to respond to.
  2. Type your response in the Write a response to this review. box.
  3. Click Add Comment

Glassdoor moderates employer responses after they have posted to the website. Employer responses are moderated using Glassdoor's Community Guidelines and Terms of Use, with the exception that we do allow employers to include their contact information and relevant web links (ie. links to internal company policies, ethics/compliance hotline sites, etc.).

When responding, we specifically ask employers to:

  • Be courteous and professional.
  • Do not include the name of the individual you believe wrote the review.
  • ​Do not threaten the writer of the review with legal or other punitive damage.

Because Glassdoor moderates employer responses after they have been posted, if the response does not meet guidelines, it may be shown for a short time before we remove it. (You will be notified by email if we remove your response.)

Additional Best Practices to consider when responding to reviews:

  • Ensure title and name of responder are correct.
  • Draft responses in Word or Google Docs to allow for proper editing of spelling, grammar, and tone.
  • Acknowledge positive feedback.
  • Say "Thank You" whether the review is positive or negative.
  • Address specific concerns honestly.
  • Take the high road.
  • Avoid corporate or internal company jargon.
  • Offer to take the conversation offline.
